Directions for use

The balm is rich and thick; a little goes a long way! If it’s a cold day then the ointment can be quite firm and harder to apply; this is perfectly normal and is just a quality of the natural beeswax we use. You can warm up a small amount of the salve in your hand or your fingers before use; that’ll make it much easier to smooth on.

As a nappy cream: apply the balm liberally to carefully cleaned and dried skin when needed, to keep skin in well-moisturised, healthy condition and help to prevent soreness. It can be used as often as you require.

As face cream: use the balm to nourish and protect baby’s delicate skin if they’re prone to dribble rash; just clean and dry the areas around baby’s mouth, chin or nose carefully first and then apply softened ointment where and when needed to protect from dribbles!

As cradle cap cream: use the balm as an emollient on areas prone to cradle cap, keeping skin soft and moisturised and helping to prevent dryness. Just apply to the scalp as and when needed. If you need to wash off excess ointment, then try our incredibly mild and gentle Hair & Body Wash (coming soon).

As this salve is oil-based, please be careful when you’re out in the sunshine! We’d advise that you don’t apply ointment to exposed areas such as the face or lips before going out in strong, hot sunlight as it can burn. Instead, use the salve last thing at night.

Patch test first

We recommend customers patch test before use (leave for 24 hours) as some people may be allergic to herbs, oils or beeswax. Please see our Patch Test page for more information.
