How To Use Balmonds Cooling Cream

how to use balmonds cooling cream

This lush moisturising lotion, made with shea butter, hemp and olive oils, our combination of biodynamic herbal tinctures (chamomile, calendula, chickweed and nettle) plus lavender essential oil, aloe vera and menthol, can be used in all sorts of ways!

It’s lighter than our Daily Moisturising Cream or our Intensive Hand Cream, so works well if you want something that can be applied quickly and easily to bigger areas.

Getting the best out of Balmonds Cooling Cream!
  • To cool down skin during hormonal hot flushes
  • As an aftersun cream
  • To soothe prickly heat rash
  • As an aftershave lotion
  • As a light and refreshing hand or face cream
  • As a brilliant moisturising scalp cream for shaved heads
  • To soothe sensitive skin after radiotherapy
  • To take the heat and itch out of hot, bothered skin

I’ve been using this cream throughout my radiotherapy treatment for breast cancer and it really has minimised the effects of the radiation. Even the radiographers have commented on how well my skin looks.

Directions for use

You can use the lotion as often as you want anywhere on the body (including the hands, face and feet) and it’s suitable for all ages from 6 weeks.

When applying moisturisers please remember to treat your skin with great care! Apply any emollient gently in the direction of your hair follicles to reduce the risk of further skin irritation or damage and try not to rub the skin.

The first time you use it, you’ll need several pumps to release the air and begin to dispense the cream. Discard the small amount that collects in the nozzle between applications (it’s not dangerous, just that exposure to the air can affect the appearance and the texture of the cream).

Patch test first

As with any new skincare product, we always advise that you patch test a tiny amount of the oil behind the ear or in the crook of your elbow for at least 24 hours before widespread use. Please visit our Patch Test page for more information.

For a more intensive emollient, especially if skin is broken or scratched raw from itching, we’d suggest you use our beeswax-based Skin Salvation instead or as well as the cooling cream.
