Which Rosehip Oil Is Best For Scars?

Rosehip oil has been used for centuries for treating damaged skin, but how can you tell which kind of rosehip to use?

Whether they're left after damage to your skin from a condition like acne, eczema or psoriasis, or as a consequence of an injury or operation, living with scars can be distressing. But there’s help at hand to considerably improve their appearance!

The benefits of using rosehip oil to help fade scars are well documented, and widely supported by dermatologists the world over; it fact it’s been used in this way for such an incredibly long time.

Rosehip oil can be applied to scars on its own or in a blend, in a whole variety of different ways! It’s recommended for use on surgical or wound scars and stretch marks, as well as ageing skin, and skin with an uneven skin tone.

As an unrefined, cold-pressed, 100% natural product that's had no chemical intervention or additional substances of any kind, rosehip is absolutely packed with nature’s goodness. Rich in Vitamins A and C, high in antioxidants and essential fatty acids (EFAs), rosehip oil is a powerful ingredient that celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Middleton swear by as part of their skincare regime! With such enthusiastic endorsement from so many people, it’s no wonder that rosehip oil has earned the nickname ‘skincare superhero’.

But which rosehip oil should you use to help with the appearance of your scars? Should you use pure rosehip oil or a blend?

Just as with anything you use, the choice can come down to individual needs and preferences. In general, rosehip is suitable for all skin types, but because using pure oil or a blend both yield favourable results there is no real carved-in-stone consensus as to which approach works best - so you can try either way to see which ideally suits your skin.

At Balmonds we’ve chosen some wonderful complementary oils to make a blend that will feed your skin with nourishing vitamins, and act as natural anti-inflammatories, as well as making the blend a fantastic emollient for dry or rough skin.

In Balmonds Rosehip Scar Oil rosehip is complimented by lavender, chamomile, calendula, and palmarosa, all of which are well known for their valuable nutritious and soothing qualities, to make a blend that has all the regenerative powers of rosehip with some extra added properties!

You can apply Balmonds Rosehip Scar Oil anywhere on the body, as often as you like. We recommend at least a daily application of a few drops where needed. It can take time to have effect, and of course how effective it is will depend on how old, how deep and how obvious the scar is, but over time it should help soften tight skin and leave it more supple and even.
