How Do I Get Rid Of Scabs On My Scalp?

How to get rid of scabs on the scalp

If you're fed up with having an itchy, bumpy, scabby scalp, here are five things you can try!

1. Bin the irritants!

Your skin is very likely to be irritated by what's being put on it, so ditch shampoos, hair products and shower gels that contain irritants; soap, scent, harsh preservatives, synthetic stabilisers are all common culprits.
Try our Natural Shampoo & Body Wash instead: it's an extremely gentle, all-purpose, unfragranced, soap-free foaming wash, made with natural ingredients.

2. Wash hair sparingly

Only wash every other day at most, possibly even a couple of times a week. It might take a bit of getting used to, but after a couple of weeks your scalp will be happier!

3. Use warm water, not hot, and keep showers short

The hotter the water and the longer your skin is in contact with it, the more likely you will dry out sensitive scalps.

4. Treat your scalp

Give it a deep conditioning treatment once a week. Apply Balmonds Scalp Oil before bed, put an old towel down on your pillow, and wash it out with our natural shampoo in the morning. This will soften scales, and feed your depleted scalp with nutrients it needs to regenerate and repair itself. Balmonds Scalp Oil is also naturally anti-microbial, so will help prevent the fungal infections that can cause bumpy rashes and scabs.

5. Look after yourself

Stress, lack of sleep, and a poor diet can all make your skin more likely to break out or flare-up, and that includes the skin of your scalp! Take your well-being seriously and make sure your body is getting all it needs to stay healthy.
